The world is flat. All our lives we studied in science that the world is round. If the world if round then how are we able to plat sports? How are we able to walk straight? If the world was round don’t you think we would all be walking a little funny? The world is flat because the worlds as an end haven’t you seen the movie pirates of the Caribbean at the worlds end. In the movie they reach the end of the world. If the world weren’t flat don’t you think we would all be floating around and I mean it would be pretty hard to drive your car around.

Anazlyzing Turning Ten
Collins is trying to say that as you get older the light / fun of your childhood gets dimmer and there is no longer this glow that you had when you were younger. When your a child things are fun and you can do any an every thing and nothing can hold you back but as you get older things get harder and the light and fun you had when you were a kid dont seem to matter any more now its time to foucs on more real things

why i want a wife
why i want a wife:
1. I believe the thesis to this story is that woman as wives are expected to do so much, but men don't have the duties as woman. And woman do so much for their children and their husband.
2. When she repeats "i want a wife" is because as a wife, she's a miracle worker and does everything, so who wouldnt want a wife?
3.I think she is being sarcastic becuase wives are expected to do to much, and they have so much they have to do and never have their own time or to do what they wanted to do back in the 60's
4.She defined "wife" as being a woman who takes on all the responsibilities and does everything for the household. She takes on all of the tasks that a wife AND husband should do. I think that the wife does too much, and should get help from her partner. She wants her readers to realize how it was in the 60's with woman, and sometimes even today. She wants people to realize how important woman are, and everything they do should be took into consideration.
5. Dear Brady,
I appreciate the fact that you wrote this essay. It screams out in a way how woman take on so many tasks, but back then they didn't get any help in return. It inspires woman not to put up with a man walking all over them, or living up to their expectations.
modest propasl
modest proposal
1. The real thesis in this essay was ”I have been assured by a very knowing American of my acquaintance in London, that a young healthy child well nursed is at a year old a most delicious, nourishing, and wholesome food, whether stewed, roasted, baked, or boiled ...” Yes I think that there are other thesis', because he also talked a lot about ways on improving Ireland and how to solve their poverty situation.
2. In the paragraphs 4, 6, and 7 the appeals to logic are put into mathematical terms like when they says "at most not above the value of 2s., which the mother may certainly get, or the value in scraps, by her lawful occupation of begging; and it is exactly at one year old that I propose to provide for them in such a manner as instead of being a charge upon their parents or the parish, or wanting food and raiment for the rest of their lives, they shall on the contrary contribute to the feeding, and partly to the clothing, of many thousands." Or "I calculate there may be about two hundred thousand couple whose wives are breeders; from which number I subtract thirty thousand couples who are able to maintain their own children, although I apprehend there cannot be so many, under the present distresses of the kingdom; but this being granted, there will remain an hundred and seventy thousand breeders.that esssay was ironic it was in paragraph 4 when he said "have always found them grossly mistaken in the computation. It is true, a child just dropped from its dam may be supported by her milk for a solar year, with little other nourishment; at most not above the value of 2s.,
.
4) The children, the elderly, and the parents. He thinks it's sad that the beggars have to sacrifice so much just for their family. They are in the streets begging in rags, and they are all dirty. The Irish are the ones to blame. He identifies himself with the socialist groups.
5)Yes it does. Swift does present proposals for improving functions; he says eat the children and everything will be better.
5.) Yes, I think that the essay does function as a satirical attack, basically towards Englandand no he really didn't propse any new proposals.
6) The narrator is describing the life their and what it's like to be poor and live out as a beggar. Then he starts to discuss how we can fix the problem but he was being sarcastic about it. Then towards the end of the essay he became more serious about the problem he was discussing.
7) I felt that Swift's piece was pretty good.It strenghtens his moments. The movement has apretty big impact. He points out the flaws of that country and makes you want to do something about it. He really makes you visualize what they were going through, which makes you want to make a difference and help.
8.) I don't think that it could be done because that's something that's so immoral.
thruber
thruber:
The little girl and the wolf: I like this sattire because it's not often you hear about a story with a little girl shooting someone, especially a wolf trying to be her grandmother.
The Bear: I like this one because the moral of the story is very good, and the way the author demonstrated how everything was happenening when he took a drink, and when he got his excersise
The fox and the crow: I like this sattire because the crow in some way "schools" the fox on what being a crow is really about, and he knows that the fox is sly.

fairy tale poem
why had this little mouse saved me knowing i could have easliy eaten him.
This lion doesnt need my saving he will be okay with out me
My love for him is so strong even tho he is so hideous.
She is gorgeuos but i have no feelings for her in that way.
He is so precious i must take him with me but i cant he is human and there are horrible people.
I hear this lovely singing in my ear am i dead.
The grasshopper took the ants food because they are tiny and helpless
The ants rebeled againt the grasshopper and didnt give him any food and they killed the grasshopper
I am sick and tired of always cleaning for my evi step mother i am running away and never coming back
I wish my fairy god mother would come help me i dont not wish to be this way anymore
i am walking in these dark woods i have no idea where to go.
She get lost in the woods forever

He walked through the door wind blowing his hair back. The scent of axe cologne hit me like a baseball baller hitting a ball. “He is fine” my friend said. “He is so fine ” I said biting my lip as he walked pass us.
My friend and I are walking down the hall to our next period class. She points and says “Look she is coming in our direction.” And there she was walking down the hall. As she walked pass me I gave her the glare of death and nudge her with my elbow. She stumbled a little and kept walking down the hall.

in class assingment
As i tossed the squishy chew toy to my cat so cat can go gete it for me. I looked over and a mouse was peeping out his little mouse hole. I saw him peep out one more time. Then he was gone when i looked again. i was looking all over the place for the mouse. Out of the corner of my eye i saw him scurrying along the wall. I wonder where was he scurrying to? I follewed the little mouse until i saw where he was headed. He was headed towards the kitchen. he probally just wanted some cheese.
So i hurryed to the kitchen and tried to prevent him from getting my pricely brie I imported from France. "You won't get that cheese!" I yelled out loud. The mouse, seemingly excited for the meal he thought he was about to get, exuberantly scurried twords the refridgerator. I needed something to try to hit him with, so I scanned around the room for a possilbe weapon. Just when I thought I would have to just use my shoe, I found the perfect item; a heavy eagle statue my grandfater gave me for my 19th birthday. I always felt it was ugly, so I didn't really mind getting mouse guts all over it. As the mouse stoped to figure out a way to get into the refridgerator, I had the perfect opportunity to put an end to his midnight snack run. As I raised the statue over my head, the mouse turned around and looked at me. His eyes were filled with something that can only be described as desperation, just like you would see in a person.
"This is ridiculous! Why do I care about the life of some dumb little mouse?" Yet the thought of its guts exploding all over the room left me heartbroken. The eagle statue dropped down and hung limply by my side like withered lettuce three days past its prime. I decided that instead of an explosion of mouse pieces around the room, a live capture would be the most humanitarian effort I could make. Frantically, I searched around the room for a cup that I could quickly drop over the mouse's head in order to trap it. But as my eyes roved around the room, I saw the flitting of tail scurrying by my side, and I knew in that istant that the mouse was gone.
As i slowly dragged my feet out of the kitchen i couldn't decide if i was happy or sad about letting the mouse live. I got into my bed and looked over at my toy cowboy and i noticed that he had a friend. The mouse was laying right next to him. I jumped up and ran to catch the mouse. I didn't know what i was going to do once i caught him. It had became a game for me. He dove into the sand that i was planning to use for my science project, i tried to dig for him but he was as fast as lightning getting away. At this point i was just angry, scared, and didn't know what too do,
